About Brooke

I have a degree in Journalism, but have always worked in Marketing and/or Advertising in some capacity. I currently work at Robert Half International in Columbus, Ohio.

I grew up on a farm in rural Illinois. Yes, my dad is a farmer. No, I am not a farmer (although I did grow very proficient at mowing the lawn while there. And speaking of growing, lets just throw this one out there – I. Am. Six. Feet Tall.  There, I’ve said it. If you meet me, please don’t ask me how tall I am. I am not a circus freak and I do have feelings, people.).

When not riding across the country, I spend most of my time training for triathlons. I qualified for the 2010 World Championships (Olympic distance) – but instead of flying to Budapest and competing in this race, my brain fell out of my head and I decided to ride my bike ACROSS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I also received 2009 USAT All-American Honorable Mention in Triathlon.

I'm sponsored by Gatorade G Series Pro. It's probably the most amazing stuff ever made. You should check it out. I also blog for them about my experiences training and racing. Google it.

I have an amazing memory, which has lead to freakishly good talent at trivial pursuit and naming all the Presidents (which, surprisingly, has actually never served itself as a great benefit in my life).

I should most definitely come with a flashing sign that reads, “Caution – will pee pants in event of uncontrollable laughter”. (This once caused, yes caused, me to steal a pair of underwear, get caught and then get grounded for an entire year in jr. high school.)

I have fallen off of a bike three times. Once resulted in a broken elbow; the other in a very incoherent ride to the hospital in a very expensive ambulance; and the last, a very swollen knee and a very crabby me. I plan on falling off my bike a negative number of times on the bike tour.

I have an amazing cat named Agnes and recently adopted a one-eyed cat named David.

I have the most annoying, pesky little case of social anxiety that comes and goes as it pleases.

I love Tegan and Sara, peanut butter and jelly, yoga, tattoos, cats and people who are humble.
